Magazines, reports and brochures, made properly for the screen.

Crafted digital editions of your publications that keep the character of the original and give readers a first-class experience, whatever device they’re using.

The work you put into your publications deserves better.

So much time and effort goes into the publications we make.

The ideas, the drafting and refining, the imagery, the layout, the typography, the meetings and sign-offs.

But all that care is lost when the people you’re trying to reach struggle to pinch-zoom their way round a PDF, or squint at tiny flipbook animations on their phones.

None of it feels right. The pace is gone and the structure is awkward. A layout designed for print often falls apart on the screen most people will read it on.

A hand holding a phone showing a print PDF: a tiny two-page spread with unreadable text, surrounded by empty dark space.
Print and desktop experiences do not adapt well to the devices that most people will experience it on.
The same pages as an Ariadne Edition on a phone: a clear headline and readable text that fills the screen, with a contents tab at the side.
An Edition makes longer form content a delight to read wherever they pick it up.

Your publication, made properly for the screen.

An Edition is your magazine, report, brochure or catalogue, made properly for the screen.

You supply the source files and get back a complete publication ready to share.

It’s a full hand-crafted conversion service, so there’s no platform to learn, no logins, no dashboards and no subscriptions.

Six principles behind every Edition.

Each Edition is tailored to the client and the content, but there are common principles that apply to every Edition that we make.

  1. 01

    Faithful to the work

It carries the publication’s character (its typography, colour, rhythm and voice), so it’s unmistakably itself.

  2. 02

    Made for the screen

Real text, set to be read comfortably on any device, with no pinching, zooming or panning.

  3. 03

    Appropriate interactivity

Charts, search, quizzes or product selectors, when the publication calls for them and they add real value to the experience.

  4. 04

    Open to everyone

Properly structured and accessible, so every reader can explore, including those using assistive technology.

  5. 05

    Owned outright

A standalone object that belongs to the organisation that made it, and can be hosted anywhere.

  6. 06

    Built to last

Something that can be archived, linked to and read again in ten years.

Primary use-cases.

A short training course Edition shown on a laptop, a tablet and a phone, opening on a map-style cover with a route to follow.

Handbooks & e-learning

Structured, clear and easy to use in the classroom or in the field. Include search, quizzes, instruction sequences and other tools.

A product catalogue Edition shown on a laptop, a tablet and a phone, with navigation for the range, comparisons and quote requests.

Brochures & catalogues

Include both high-level and detailed product information in a single shareable Edition. Add product selectors, configurators and figures you can explore.

An Edition open on a tablet resting on a stack of printed magazines, at its “Yours to keep” chapter: a printed magazine sits on a shelf for decades, while many digital editions vanish the day a subscription lapses.

Most online publications are rented. Yours is owned.

Rented publications live on someone else’s platform, disappear when the subscription lapses, or end up surrounded by someone else’s adverts. An Ariadne Edition belongs to you outright.

The files are yours

A complete, self-contained Edition you can keep, copy and archive.

Host it anywhere

On your website, your own server or with us. You can change your mind later.

Nothing for you to run

No software to learn, no logins to manage, no tool your team has to operate.

It stays as you published it

The version you approved, still readable years from now.

You’ve already done the hard part.

The writing, the design and the sign-off are finished. We take it from there, usually going live within two weeks of receiving your files.

  1. Step 1: Send us what you’ve got

An InDesign package or Affinity file is ideal: styles, linked images, fonts and colour all carry useful information. A press-ready PDF works too.

  2. Step 2: We make the Edition

We rebuild it for the screen, keeping your typography, colour and pacing. No brief to write, nothing new to learn.

  3. Step 3: Review it on your phone

A private preview link to share with whoever needs it. Your comments come back to us; the design stays yours throughout.

  4. Step 4: It goes live

On your site or ours, usually within two weeks. Nothing is published until you approve it.

We’ve spent years around print deadlines: late copy, a figure corrected the night before, the sign-off that takes a week. Our process allows for all of it, and doesn’t change how you make the print edition.

Starting from scratch?

If there’s no print version, we can design the Edition from your copy and images, and build a branded prototype with you first.

See what yours could look like

Send us a recent publication and we’ll make a few pages as a free sample. Your original InDesign or Affinity files give the best result; a PDF works too.

Frequently asked.

Is this a flipbook?

No. A flipbook shows your PDF as pictures of pages. An Edition is rebuilt as real pages that reflow on any screen.

What do you need from us?

The source files: InDesign or Affinity, or the print PDF. If you’re starting from scratch, we can use your existing material as a design base.

Where does it live? Do we pay monthly?

Anywhere you like. We can send you a fully self-contained Edition to host on your own server, with no ongoing costs. Or we can host it on our version-controlled system with private previews, access controls and an audit trail. The first year is included, then a small annual fee. You are free to take your Edition whenever you like.

Is it accessible?

Yes. Editions are built as real, structured text that works with screen readers and keyboards, and we design and test every one to WCAG 2.2 AA, the level the European Accessibility Act requires.

Can our compliance team sign it off?

Yes. We supply your Edition as a self-contained asset you can host on a server you control, or on our version-controlled hosting with private previews, access controls and an audit trail.

Our print designer already does “publish online”.

These types of service are usually very limited and do not handle different screen sizes or long-form content well. Please compare the user experience with our example Edition on a phone to gauge the difference.

We’re on Issuu or FlippingBook.

Good, you already know you need a better solution.

We’re an agency. Do you offer white-label?

Yes. We offer a full white-label service for agencies and studios complete with trade rates.

How long does it take?

About two weeks from receiving the files to a live Edition.

Give your next publication the reading it deserves.

If you think an Edition would be a good fit for you, we can turn a few pages of your existing content into a working sample, free of charge, that you can try out and share with your colleagues.
