Cookies
This website does not use cookies, so there is no cookie banner here. Editions and other assets we host on the Ariadne platform are different: they can use cookies to keep you signed in and, only if you agree, to measure how they are read. This page explains both.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. Some are strictly necessary for a site to work, such as keeping you signed in. Others are used to measure visits or remember choices. The law requires a website to ask your permission before setting any cookie that is not strictly necessary.
2. This website
This website (ariadneworks.com) does not set any cookies. It has no analytics, advertising or social media tracking. Our fonts and images are served from our own site rather than from third parties, and the free-sample form works without cookies.
If our hosting provider’s security checks detect unusual traffic, it may set a strictly necessary cookie to tell genuine visitors from automated ones. These cookies do not track you and do not require consent.
3. Editions and assets on the Ariadne platform
Editions, interactive tools and other assets that we host on the Ariadne platform may use the following.
Strictly necessary cookies
Where an Edition or asset is private or access-controlled, for example a preview shared for review or an Edition only available to a client’s staff, a cookie keeps you signed in while you read it. Without it, access control would not work, so it does not require consent.
Analytics cookies, only with your consent
We measure how Editions and assets are used, such as which pages are read and for how long, so that we and the organisations that publish them can see what is working. This analytics is our own: we collect it ourselves, and it is not shared with third-party analytics or advertising companies.
Each Edition and asset asks for your consent before any analytics cookie is set, and nothing is collected or sent unless you agree. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings button, the fingerprint icon at the side of the screen, which reopens your choices.
Preferences
If an Edition remembers a preference, such as dark mode, it does so in your browser’s own storage on your device. That information is not sent to us.
4. Editions hosted elsewhere
Editions belong to the organisations that publish them, and some are hosted on those organisations’ own websites. Where that is the case, their own cookie policy applies.
5. If this changes
If we ever add cookies to this website that are not strictly necessary, we will ask your permission first, give you a clear way to change your mind, and update this page.
6. Managing cookies
You can change your analytics choice for an Edition or asset at any time using its cookie settings button (the fingerprint icon at the side of the screen). You can also see and delete cookies, and block them altogether, in your browser’s settings. Blocking cookies does not affect how this website works, but you will not be able to stay signed in to a private Edition.
